Asiasoft take their games very seriously

Starting tomorrow you’ll be able to play Asiasoft’s newest free-to-play MMO, an action strategy game based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Developed by Korean company Wemade, the game has been a huge success in Korea, and will now be available in Singapore in both Chinese (starting tomorrow) and English (in October).

Gameplay will be familiar to anyone who has played Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series of games: you control a warrior in a behind the shoulder view, running around the battlefield hacking and slashing your way through foes. The game can be played with a keyboard and mouse or, if you prefer, you can use a joypad.

So far, there are four playable classes. We had a chance to test all of them.

Swordsman

Average stats across the board, the swordsman dual wields short swords, or can switch to a longer polearm type weapon.

Crusader

The fastest of the four classes, the crusader seems capable of doing more damage, but is also a bit more fragile. Dual wields tonfas, and carries a long spear as a secondary weapon.

The swordsman and the crusader seem to be the offensive classes, as both dual wield and are unable to block attacks – instead relying on evasive dodging.

Warrior

The defensive version of the swordsman. Roughly the same speed, but sacrifices one sword for a shield, allowing the warrior to block incoming attacks. Secondary weapon is a spear.

Brute

Carries a big hammer and a shield, very slow but can take and put out a lot of damage. Carries a huge axe as a secondary weapons.

The warrior and brute are the defensive classes, having high HP and shields for blocking. Having said that, the Brute can put out a lot of damage if he manages to hit you with his slow attacks.

All classes have access to special combos and charge attacks, which you can customize to your liking.

From what we’ve seen saw far, the game is pretty different from Asiasoft’s other free-to-play MMOs, being more action orientated and fast paced. Having said that, there is still a good amount of strategy involved, and it is a lot less mindless than the Dynasty Warrior’s style of button mashing, as playing against other players will require a good PVP strategy.

    cash items infested game

The game’s practically free. Cash items are just another type of per-second billing scheme. You pay for what you use. As opposed to paying a flat subscription fee, grinding, and still end up buying gold off gold farmers.
