Joss Whedon confirmed that there will be other females in the movie apart from Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts, Natalie Portman, and others may play a small part in the film. But what about the superheroines in the Avengers team like Scarlet Witch and Wasp?

Joss Whedon said on The Sunday Herald-Sun (via Entertainment Weekly) that while “”It is true that the movie is only going to have one female avenger (referring to Johansson). But she will not be the only female character”.

This might anger Avenger fans, as the Wasp is considered integral in the group, not to mention one of the original members. Black Widow? Not so much, even though she’s hot.
