Code XtremeApps Goes Green

Code XtremeApps, Singapore’s only 24-hour programming competition returns this year with a green theme, aimed at promoting environmental awareness. The competition will run from 6PM on Saturday 23rd July to 6PM on Saturday 24th July at Singapore Management University School of Information Systems.

Participating teams (of up to three members per team) will be challenged to develop an innovative or useful online or mobile application aimed at helping to reduce environmental impact or at promoting awareness. In addition, teams must utilize at least one of the required platforms: G Element’s 3D application tool GermaniumWeb, Red Hat’s open source platform, JBoss and Microsoft’s Project Nimbus.

A separate Junior category for contestants aged 12 year and below will be also be held, where contestants will program an animated story using Scratch, an easy to use programming tool.

The top three teams from both categories stand to win prizes including up to S$9000 in cash and game consoles.
