There had been a lot of conjecture about the latest Assassin’s Creed game from Ubisoft. With the first two installments staying in Europe pitting you against the Templar, many thought the time was ripe for a change of scenery. After the move towards Asia with the last title being set in Constantinople, Assassin’s Creed III will be headed in an entirely new direction.
A worker at Best Buy emailed Kotaku shots of the new game. And from the looks of it Assassin’s Creed III is going to be set in America. We see the protagonist decked out in Native Indian garb holding a firearm and a tomahawk in each hand. He also has a bow strapped across his back and what suspiciously looks like blood flecking his pristine whites. Very Last of the Mohicans!
In the background you can also see the Continental American Flag which strongly suggests that the American revolution is afoot. The switch of location also fits in nicely with the story arc of the series. Desmond is after all descended from the line of Assassin’s Order members and there has to be some reason why was raised and live in New York.
Ubisoft has stated that they will be releasing information about the game and pre-order bonuses on 5th March 2012, but we guess the cat is out of the bag now. The actual Assassin’s Creed III game is expected to be released on 31st October 2012.
