What happens when a company known for a hot and sexy game engine goes into the online FPS business like Sudden Attack? You get Warface, an upcoming free-to-play shooter co-produced by Crytek Seoul. The game will feature an extensive PVE universe with multi-player co-op missions, and many classes (i.e: different weapon loadouts) to tinker around it.
Says Cevat Yerli, CEO & President of Crytek: “Our passion is to always deliver the best gaming experience possible. That’s why we opened our Crytek Seoul office in 2008 which today enables us to offer a game that is tailored to suit its market. We’re excited to debut with Warface in South Korea and to deliver a compelling and truly unique experience soon.”
Normally, I couldn’t really care less since it sounds more like a prettier military-themed free-to-playonline shooter that every person seems to be playing in local cybercafes, but these games are ungodly popular for some unexplained reason. And hey, it’s using the CryENGINE so at least it’ll be easier on the eyes at least.
