For those not fortunate enough to check out EVO 2009 in Las Vegas for the past weekend (like yours truly), never fret, as a live-blog just announced the winner of the Street Fighter IV Championship Title hours ago: Daigo “The Beast” Umehara.
Initially, Justin Wong picked Abel in hopes to surprise Daigo (who played Ryu) with an unfamiliar match-up. No such luck, as he got beaten pretty bad, which resulted in Justin picking the Boxer, complete with the Apollo Creed outfit to signify the USA vs. Japan symbolism further of the match in question. At least he fared better, as he manage to win a set against The Beast. Still, Daigo won the match and wins the Evo 2009 Street Fighter IV Championship Title.
You want a video of the epic match? Of course you do (all of it at the bottom of this post). Major props to Seth Killian for a good job commentating not just this match, but for every other Capcom-related fighting game contested on EVO. Major props to both fighters as well, who obviously placed in their all in this fight.

Nice article. I figure this isn’t exactly on topic, nevertheless I just wanted to add that the site design here is pretty good. Is there a name or something? I do not know how to look it up.
Interesting blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design. Many thanks
jayson you have no knowledge for evo .
john choi beat nuki in ST last year.
Who is Daigo?
Who is Ogiad? The question is.
No surprise there; USA has never won a single SF game against Japan since the first EVO2K.
