For those with Xbox 360s here and waiting for FFXIII to come out locally, well, here’s some bad news. According to Digital Life, the English version of Final Fantasy XIII will not be released on Microsoft’s game console in Singapore. A spokesperson from Xbox Singapore also stated that “Square Enix has not announced the availability of an Asian version of FFXIII.” An analyst in GfK Asia’s imaging and entertainment department also added that “[this news] will definitely be a negative impact on Xbox 360.”
This does make a bit of sense, as the Xbox 360 version of FFXIII was never released in Japan; speculations on the Xbox 360 being more of a US-specific release turned out to be more concrete. We’ll keep you updated as we get some more words out of Microsoft. Guess the PS3 fanboys have something to shout about here in Singapore, eh?
Because I’m shameless to the core, here’s our review on the import version of FFXIII in case you’re waiting on next month for the English version on the PS3.

FFXIII is not coming out on Xbox 360 in Singapore/Malaysia until Square Enix says something. Keep your Killzone 2/Halo 3 lovefest in another separate thread.

I think we can close this discussion right now before it becomes worst. FFXIII will be for PS3 ONLY here. Xbox 360 fanboys have another Halo should be enough; if the game’s still worth playing anymore.

Hey Jack, just take a look at the metacritic scores for Mass Effect 2. Compare them with those of any PS3 RPG available : ).

resistance 2 and killzone 2 combined. developers bungie still keeps

what does the sales of Halo, Resistance 2, Uncharted, Mass Effect 2, Killzone, Splinter Cell, the PS3 and the 360 have to do with FFXIII english version not being release in asia on the 360??

Besides being a bigger money maker,Halo is far more popular.There was even supposed to be a movie directed by Neil Blomkamp,which was sadly scrapped.Furthermore,it was a far superior launch title than what the PS3 had.Lair anyone?
That being said,it’s a matter of taste.There is no such thing as the best game.I enjoyed all the titles being argued about here.Resistance and Killzone were great and I’ve played all 3 Halo titles to death.

It was just as critically acclaimed, and it has sold a hell of a lot more copies than either of the above mentioned PS3 exclusives. Looks to me as if you got the pwnage the wrong way around. Yeah just checked the records; Resistance 2 pwned Halo and they sold more than Halo too! So does Killzone 2.

You should learn how to do your research better. Halo 3 has sold over 8.1 million units worldwide:
“In the U.S., Halo 3 sold 3.3 million copies in its first 12 days on sale,[80] increasing to 3.7 million copies by November 15, 2007.[81] Reuters UK estimated that Halo 3 may have sold up to 5.2 million copies worldwide in the first two weeks after launch.[9] By November 30, 2007, Halo 3 had sold 5 million copies worldwide, and as of that point, was the best-selling video game of 2007 in the U.S., even though the game is only available on one console.[82] On January 3, 2008, Microsoft announced that Halo 3 has sold 8.1 million copies.”
Killzone 2 has barely sold over 2 million copies worldwide and Resistance 2 only 1.8 million units worldwide. So guess what little buddy. Halo 3 has sold twice what Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 have sold TOGETHER. All that pwnage must leave you with a sore but fanboy :).
That’s ok. We 360 owners have Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, and a far superior version of Bayonetta. We can live without FFXIII. There hasn’t been a good FF since FFX anyway! = D

I believed we’ve had enough of your anti-PS3 crap. The PS3 is now the leading games console in Singapore so shut the hell up and move on. I will be lying if I said I’m not mad at Microsoft stealing games from PS3 again (latest being Quantum Theory) but there’s nothing I can do but to say a few crap then shut up and move on.
Look on the bright side; you got Left 4 Dead 2, Mass Effect 2 and the upcoming…err…Halo….Halo Reach (if Halo is still cool anymore…).

Actually, this piece of news isn’t new. Microsoft have in various interviews in the past already confirmed the FFXIII was only coming to the X360 in US and EU. Square Enix has never denied it as well. If you search for FFXIII Xbox news from late 2008/early 2009, it was already confirmed then that there would be no Asian release.
This close to the English launch, the report is more or less a reminder that Microsoft and Square Enix haven’t changed their stance.
hhmm… checked out the digital life link. that tech paper has a history of inconsistencies; what makes people think that it’s confirmed news? this could be speculation on the writer’s part just turned into facts because its on a public newspaper
