Buy my demo! Buy my action figures! Buy my fruit-flavored drinks! Buy my sword!
Just a small reminder: the demo to Final Fantasy XIII, which comes with the "hit" movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete version, will be out tomorrow. And we, for one, aren’t giving a rat’s ass about it. Here’s why you shouldn’t shell out $90+ on a demo that would eventually be free on the PSN Network.
- You’ll be getting a potential Blu Ray coaster in the form of Final Fantasy VII: Slash Fic Ahoy Advent Children Complete. This fluff of a movie blows chunks, even with its additional scenes.
- For 90 bucks (or more, from what I’ve heard), you could get a FULL RPG on the PS3 or PS2 that’s out right now. Like the under-appreciated Valkyria Chronicles or Persona 4.
- At this economical crisis right now, is it really that justifiable to pay that much money for a subpar movie and a probable half-hour demo?
- An RPG-loving friend of yours might be getting it, so why not sponge from him instead?
Look, I have no doubt that the full game will be great. Personally, I hope the combat system is kinda like Chrono Cross, given as how it’s set up to be. However, I wouldn’t suggest bowing down to Square Enix’s corporate marketing tactic. Besides, the Japanese version will be out end of the year; 8 months isn’t that long. Until Square Enix announces delays, which is pretty likely if you remember FFXII. We can’t predict the future, so who knows? What we can do is wait for our chance to test out the demo for free (hopefully from the peeps at Sony HK and Ogilvy) and tell you all about it in the future.
