The Nintendo WiiU was finally released on the 18th of November 2012. And there are problems cropping up for the console after just a day. Right out of the box, the WiiU is only capable of playing WiiU games. In order to unlock the variety of online features such as the Miiverse and the eShop Nintendo pushed out a launch day firmware upgrade.
The upgrade is a massive 5GB download and can easily take over an hour to complete. But worst of all, the upgrade may brick your system rendering it useless. If you lose power or get disconnected from the internet while the download is progressing, your brand spanking new Nintendo WiiU might just never work again.
Although gamer forums and the twitterverse are full of complaints, the exact root of the problem still has not been pinpointed.
