Many games claim to be extreme (or Xtreme – in rare cases, maybe even XTREME 2 THE MAX) but how many can actually back it up?
We weed out the gnarly from the bodacious in this Xtreme edition of Friday Fives.
Each game gets a rating based on how extreme Keanu thinks they are.
5. Toy Golf Extreme
Extreme Rating 0/5 whoas
On the one hand, unlike say, extreme sudoku, it’s an actual sport (albeit in the loosest possible sense), thus making it eligible for Xtremeification; on the other, it has the word Toy in the title: not very extreme (not to mention, Golf).
This game could have been extreme, perhaps with the inclusion of barbed wire, electric fences and landmines to navigate your ball through. Instead, they opted for pens and tipped over teacups.
4. Extreme Hangman
Extreme Rating: 1/5 whoas
While my mind was conjuring up images of illegal underground gatherings where Hangman is played with a real noose and high stakes, Extreme Hangman appears to be regular Hangman, but with animated stick figures.
Having said that, the ESRB content rating does warn of alcohol reference, mild cartoon violence and animated blood, which seems pretty extreme for a game played on a chalk board.
3. Bible Trivia Extreme
Extreme Rating: 2.5/5 whoas
Featuring some of the toughest Bible questions ever posed, this game is certainly more challenging than regular old Bible Trivia.
However, compared to other Bible trivia games available, there is a distinct lack of extremeness. Not enough hellfire, brimstone or other extreme things. John Constantine disapproves.

2. Lego Island Xtreme Stunts
Extreme Rating: 3.5/5
Finally, a game that has the balls to opt for the X spelling, thus immediately granting it a minimum score of 3/5 whoas. It also has Stunts in the title, which is what stuntmen do, the most extreme profession in Hollywood, another 0.5 to the score.
After that it’s all downhill. Legos are the least extreme toy ever invented, sitting right at the bottom of the ladder, just below Barbie, who at least has an extremely small waist (and extremely large…)
1. Shimano Xtreme Fishing
Extreme Rating: 5/5 whoas
You may be thinking that fishing can’t be all that extreme (or Xtreme, +3 whoas). Well you’d be wrong.
The only game on this list to feature weapons, check out the box art: that’s one scary looking fish, its about to swallow that dude on the left who came ill prepared with nothing but a rod and is now reeling back (har har) in sheer terror.
Meanwhile, the guy in the middle is shooting an arrow right into the face of some unseen piranha, and far right guy is fishing for sharks with a harpoon!
Double eyebrow whoa!
