So who are the rest of the new fighters for the upcoming Super Street Fighter IV, the big update to the already-played-and-FADC’ed-every-damn-day-here Street Fighter IV? Glad you asked: according to a scan from Kotaku of the latest Famitsu, they brought in fighters from the SF Alpha series. They are Guy, Cody, and Adon. Guy and Cody are originally from Final Fight, then they made their 2D fighting debut in the Alpha series with their own brand of fighting styles. Guy does Bushido and is speedy with a lot of tricky moves for opponents to guess; much like a ninja version of El Fuerte. Cody’s an all-out brawler who just came out from prison: he has his own mind game attacks with his High/Med/Low Slide Kick and Tornado attack. He’s also specialized with a knife too, provided you have time to pick it up on the battlefield. Not sure if they’ll implement the knife in Super SF IV though: at least it’s not the Cody from that abomination that is Final Fight Streetwise on the PS2…
Adon is basically Sagat’s pupil/rival, only a tad more bitter about coming at second just below Sagat. He’s close-range all the way, with his Jaguar Tooth & and Jaguar Kick as his main repertoire for attacks against projectile spammers. Alright, so that’s already six new characters in Super SF IV; who shall be the next few to be revealed? Ibuki? Rolento? Eagle? In the meantime, knock yourself out with some combo videos from Guy, Cody, and Adon at the bottom to see what they’re capable of.
