Generator Defense
Another objective-driven mode, this mode pits three Spartans against three Elites. The Spartans have to protect three generators while the Elites have to destroy them before the time limit expires. The Spartans are not only placed on higher ground and in well-fortified positions, they also can lock down a generator, making it invulnerable for 30 seconds at the cost of a brief cooldown period. Furthermore, a well-aimed rocket blast can take out a generator, which means that the Spartans will need to set up a good vantage point to take care of Elites when they approach.
Since the three generators are generally set far apart from each other, some Spartan strategies involve the team splitting up and having one of them lock up the generator. You will have to think on the fly on how to defend or attack a generator; one minute you might be protecting a generator when all three Elites come at you, another can have you and your Elite buddies attacking a generator after the lockdown is done.
Hot Or Not? Hot. Depending on the map size (the smaller, the faster and better), Generator Defense will see a lot of play. With just the right amount of players per team and strategies evolving as the match goes on, shooter fans will definitely enjoy this mode.
Stockpile
Your team has to collect a bunch of neutral flags on the map and return them to your team’s active capture point. The catch is that you have to wait a few seconds after you place the flags at the capture point, meaning that you’ll have to be on the defensive since your opponents will try to wrestle those flags away from you. As far as this list is concerned, this is probably the most generic-sounding mode type of them all.
Hot Or Not? Not. It’s just an iteration of Capture The Flag with a bit of Territories in the mix. It will get some playtime, but it’s not as enticing as Invasion and Headhunter.
