Hey it’s the F1 weekend, but you don’t really care do you? Oh wait you do? I see. Going down to watch the races eh? Have your seat all booked yeah? But what, may ask you, what, are you going to do during the times when the cars have blazed by your seats and you’re just staring at an empty road? The answer’s simple! This week’s iPhone Gaming Care Meter brings you the Dungeon Scroll, a mind wracking letter crawling game that pits your vocabulary against the denizens of the dungeon. So Mr. Wordsmith, are you ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum?

Let’s start with the basics. Like the Word Challenge game on Facebook, you have to basically form words from a list of letters, which will then “cast a spell” to damage the monster’s that attacking you because you basically invaded their homes to rob them blind of treasure. As you go along defeating the denizens of the lair, you’ll find loot in the form of bonus letters that do extra damage, healing pots that basically give you more health (time) and magical tiles that give you a new hand, or make the most most awesome word you have in your hand right now for an awesome magical spell.
Oh lookie here, a really cute and cuddly grizzly bear!

The oracle tile speaks of a tailbone which is connected to the jawbone, which is connected to the thighbone (no, I have no idea what the lyrics are).

Ding!
On the way, you get to gain levels, learn the basics of using small words for lesser health creatures, while saving the big words for the monsters – some with armor that require you to have words at least four letters long. You’ll learn as you play, so the learning curve isn’t that hard.

On to the next level!
For US$1.99, it’s an awesome time killer for the moments where you’re just waiting for someone or idling on public transport with nothing better to do than improve your vocabulary. Unless of course, you are just limited to four letter words that begin with F…

Global rankings too. Can you get your flag up there?
