It’s been around two weeks since I’ve updated this blog, but believe me it wasn’t due to me being lazy. Rather, it was a lack of interesting enough games in the iPhone store to review. Well, thankfully, the drought has ended with the sequel of my favorite all time pussy game, Mew Mew Tower!

Yes, the kitties are back with a vengeance, some new art, music and a global ranking system. Mew Mew Tower 2 kicks things up a notch with better features, though with the same addictive gameplay of cat stacking. For starters, you can create up to three profiles now, so if you’ve been lending your significant other play with your iPhone, well, they can jolly well set their own records, thank you very much.
The game now also features support for left handed players – the kitty box appears on the left side -no longer can lefties claim to suck at playing the game because it’s made for right handers. If you’ve played the first game, then you’ll have no problems getting going. Stack them cats up folks, and soar for the skies.

There’s a good kitty.

The higher and fatter we go.

These are very down to earth kitties. No airs for sure.
Sadly, for the price of US$1.99, there are no additional gameplay modes added, so you’re basically getting the same old game with added tweaks. It’s a drawback for sure – we would have loved some twists to game to make it more interesting. There exists a world wide ranking however, and it does give me the motivation to keep at it just so I can make it into the top 100. My 19.0m record just doesn’t cut it at the moment, but I’ll get there soon enough (I hope).

On that note, I’d recommend getting this game if you never got the first one, but if you got the first one, I can only think of three reasons you should get the sequel: 1. you’re left handed, 2. you’re a record breaking junkie, or 3. you have way too much cash to spend.
Meow!
p.s. Right now, the ranking lists are being dominated by folks from Japan, so if anyone’s picking up the game and breaks into the top 100 from either Malaysia or Singapore, feel free to let me know and I’ll edit the info in.
