Mega Man godfather and game designer Keiji Inafune announced his resignation after his 23 years of service with Capcom. He broke the news on his personal blog on Daletto, which is a subsidiary company of Capcom. According to 1up.com, he stated on the blog that “this is my last entry as company president”, and continued on to say that he was leaving Capcom.

He also stressed that he does not have any contempt for his longtime employers, which people assumed that he did following his recent public posts about him hating his job and declaring Japan as being behind the times in the games industry. “Capcom is a really good company. I love Capcom, and that’s no lie. It might be the best [company] in the world.”

What then of his future? He states that he will continue work in the games industry. “I’m not saying I’ll make games until I die,” he said. “However, I want to continue making games. Just not at my present position.”
