Says Jorg Zeissig, managing director of Leipziger Messe Asia,” It is a regrettable, but necessary decision. We will continue to keep an eye on the Asian games market so that we can pick up again with new concepts if this becomes appropriate.”
The press release wasn’t clear on whether it’s withdrawing from this year’s GCA(if there will be one), or GCA in general *UPDATE: Turns out there’s no GCA 2010 according to a recent press release. One wonders who will take Leipziger Messe’s place in backing up this year’s GCA, if there’s even any drive to have a GCA at all. They played a very big part in getting GCA running in the first place. Just so you know, last year’s GCA registered 80 exhibitors (including the people from DICE) and 102,500 visitors.

Personally I think all companies should attend to this event, make it as big as possible.
Afterall its not a Sony’s game convention, or Microsoft convention… Nintendo convention used to work somehow in the old days though haha
Sadly, from the previous conventions, the booths seem to be mainly organized or ran by the big name’s local distributors and not the core company themselves. Felt more like IT-Show or PC-show for games.
But I guess everything thing has to start somewhere.

Sad news. But it is noted that last year’s GCA sucks; being very much an Xbox 360 Losers’ Convention and almost no PS3 in sight except for Street Fighter IV.
This year it should be Sony PS3 in the spotlight and not the Xbox 360; they already have their chance.
