While it took a couple years before the good folks at Sony to officially bring the PlayStation 3 into the country, Malaysian gamers won’t have to wait as long for Sony’s latest motion controller. The PlayStation Move will be available at all Sony Style Centres and game stores this September 15^th – the same time that our Singaporean and European brethren will get their Move on. North America will get the PlayStation Move on September 17^th.

Katsuhiko Murase, Deputy Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Limited, was in town recently to launch the new Sony PlayStation Move controller in the country as well as give a special sneak preview to local IT and gaming media. The PlayStation Move will come with a suggested retail price (SRP) of RM188. The one-handed optional Navigation Controller will be sold separately at a SRP of RM128. An optional PlayStation Move charging station will also be available at an SRP of RM98.

The PlayStation Move controller will also be sold in bundles. The STARTER Pack, which has an SRP of RM238, comes with the PlayStation Move motion controller, PlayStation Eye camera, and PlayStation Move Starter Disc. For another RM60, you can get the BASIC Pack at RM298, which comes with all of the stuff in the STARTER Pack and one PlayStation Move game such as Sports Champions (the other two games that you can choose from are Kung Fu Rider and Start the Party!).

Also available on the same day, two new PlayStation 3 models with a higher storage capacity of 160GB and 320GB HDD will be available in stores with the SRP of RM1239 and RM1299 respectively.

Select Sony Style Centres and game stores across Malaysia will be offering a special promotional price for the PlayStation Move Welcome Bundle. Those who buy the new PlayStation 3 will be able to buy the STARTER Pack at only RM188 (original SRP: RM238) while customers who buy the PlayStation Move BASIC Pack will be able to buy an extra PlayStation Move motion controller at RM118 (original SRP: RM188). If you’re looking for a triple-A title to test out your new PlayStation Move controller, you don’t have to look any further than the PlayStation Move Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Bundle. This bundle comes with the BASIC Pack contents, one Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition game, and one Limited Edition Resident Evil 5 USB stick – all at the bargain price of RM298. There’s also a PlayStation Move Time Crisis: Razing Storm Perfect Pack which comes with the shooting attachment, but that bundle isn’t due until 19^th October and its pricing hasn’t been set yet.
