Siliconera recently uncovered a recent title that was filed by Capcom. Said title is “Mega Man Universe”, filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark is broadly classified as a “computer game software”, with specific classifications include downloadable game, mobile game, and screen saver. This could mean a few things:
- A possible MMORPG (or Muh-Moh-Pur-Ger) featuring the universe of Mega Man; Meta robots, robot masters, sociopathic scientists and all.Though MMO could be a stretch; at best it could be an ad-hoc/online dungeon crawl in the Mega Man universe ala Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles DS.
- A compilation of all the Mega Man games in existence, from the NES games up to the PS1 Mega Man X side-scrollers.
- A new Mega Man Legends sequel, as Keiji Inafune finally convinced the higher-ups of its importance in the gaming community. Okay, just the Mega Man fandom gaming community.
