The upcoming kart racing game, ModNation Racers, is finally given a release date: May 25th. That’s not all though: you get to play as three of Sony’s recognizable icons. They are God of War’s Kratos, Ratchet & Clank, and Uncharted’s Nathan Drake. The four racers will be in their ModNation miniaturized form driving their own vehicles. Kratos will have his golden chariot, while Nathan gets a rugged HumVee.
However, there are a few hoops you have to jump across to get these guys, and they all involve preordering from American outlets. If you preorder the game from GameStop, you get Kratos. Preordering from Amazon gets you Ratchet or Clank (not “and”, it’s one or the other), while preordering from Best Buy net you Nathan Drake. If you preorder (doesn’t matter where), you’ll get extra stuff like new outfits and pictures for your ModNation profile.
On the local front, we have no idea how we can get these guys. All we can hope is that Sony will let these racers be free(hah!) DLC a month after its release. Regardless, we’ll see if Sony Hong Kong has anything planned in regards to ModNation Racer exclusive characters.
