Do you see that? It is the rising of a new dawn. Daybreak will hit Hong Kong soon as Sony Computer Entertainment HK has a December 17th launch date for the PlayStation 4 on their home ground.
The basic console with a wireless DualShock4 controller will go for HK$3,380 while ones bundled with a PlayStation Camera, Dynasty Warriors 8 or Killzone: Shadow Fall will go for HK$3,680, HK$3,880 and HK$3,780 respectively. (Ed: Taking currency exchange rates into account, we’re guessing the PlayStation 4 standalone console to retail at S$559 – or up to S$599 – in Singapore / Malaysia markets.)
Standalone DualShock4 controllers will come in Jet Black, Magma Red and Wave Blue for HK$468, the same price as the PlayStation Camera. Other add-ons for you to dock your controllers or stand your PS4 upright will come in for about HK$248 and HK$198. Naturally, these bundles are just for Hong Kong, but localised bundles are definitely on the cards when the console comes to town. These prices will give you a good gauge of how much you can expect to pay.
The announcement was made last week at a PS4 event, which also revealed details about their own Midnight Launch Party for 100 participants. A similar PS4 event will be held tomorrow in Singapore, so perhaps similar spills will be made about the local launch. We’ll be there to bring you everything from that press event, so stay tuned to RobotsGoneBad for that!
