PSA: Remember to claim a free PC copy of Devil May Cry HD Collection

Capcom’s Devil May Cry HD Collection releases in a matter of hours, though you don’t necessarily have to fork out the cash to relive those marionette-juggling dreams. A PC copy of the game can be yours for the attractively low price of “Free” courtesy of Twitch Prime, and yes, it does work with Amazon’s 30-day trial.

You automatically have Twitch Prime if you’re signed up for Amazon Prime – you only need to link your accounts. That said, be sure you have a Prime membership for the correct region. Mismatched regions can be easily fixed by following  this troubleshooting page, though that does mean a separate bill.

If you’re not a Prime member then Amazon has a 30-day trial you can sign up for. Just remember that it’s a recurring subscription – currently offered at S$2.99 a month before eventually reverting to $8.99 – so do cancel if it you’re not keen on continuing the service. The benefits of Twitch Prime and, by extension, Singapore’s Prime Now, is something you’ll have to weigh for yourself.

Is there a catch to all this? Kind of. You’ll need to install the Twitch Desktop App for Windows to install your new copy of Devil May Cry HD, and it requires an active internet connection to launch.

  1. Register or link a Twitch Prime account
  2. Check the monthly offers
  3. Scroll down and claim Devil May Cry HD
  4. Install Twitch Desktop App (Windows) if you don’t already have it
  5. Install the game (5GB) and start getting those Stylish S-Ranks

Devil May Cry HD Collection packs the first two games and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, a re-release that adjusted the difficulty and introduced Vergil as a playable character.

The collection is also available via Steam and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
