PSX2017 – WipEout Omega Collection goes VR in upcoming update

We hope you still have your copy of WipEout Omega Collection laying around because the racer is about to kick things up a notch. Announced at PlayStation Experience 2017, a free update in early 2018 will add PlayStation VR support and 3D audio. They’re even adding three new ships that come with a cockpit view and head-tracking, granting a whole new way to experience anti-grav racing.

The free patch implements virtual reality across the entire game — every mode, track, and even online races can be played with the headset on.

Back in July, our WipEout Omega Collection review called the game “a wonderful package for fans of the series” and that the whole anti-grav formula was timeless, sporting a difficulty curve where even new players could get it on the sci-fi racing action.
