It seems the Xbox 360 has been around forever; Microsoft’s gaming machine is close to seven years old. And let’s not forget that in a bid to outshine Sony’s PS3, Microsoft released it the 360 a year before the PS3, making it seem much older than the PS3.
And so we aren’t exactly surprised when we caught wind of some news that Microsoft is ready to launch the 360’s successor next year.
Sources have quoted that the next gen Xbox will be running a GPU similar to AMD’s Radeon HD 6670, which will make it six times more powerful than the Xbox 360. Also, due to the GPU, it will support goodies like DirectX11, 3D and 1080p HD output as well as multi-display output.
Mass production should begin by the end of this year, so hopefully the new Xbox will hit stores by the November next year. And don’t forget to pray for none of that red ring madness that plagued its predecessor.
