Hardcore fans and gaming snobs rejoice. The so-called fad that is the Nintendo Wii has been reported to experience a 52% drop in profits and slashed its full-year forecast, according to an announcement from the big N. From the excerpts of the New York Daily News, Sales have slumped 43% worldwide to 5.75 million from 10 million in the six months ended September 30th.
Even Nintendo president Satoru Iwata admits that “(Nintendo) weren’t able to deliver the next thing,” since there is a lack of new must-have titles.They’re now relying on the recently-out-in-July Wii Sports Resort to bring home the cash flow. Several factor attributed to this: Sony cutting their price on their PS3s and coming up with a new SKU, Microsoft following suit with a price cut, and other factors. Until that New Super Mario game for the Wii comes in and (probably) save the day, Nintendo’s probably gonna have a bit of humble pie.

It’s pretty hard having Wii on the cool hard-hit games. I think the coolest games nowadays are mostly FPS and RPGs, and think of playing those games in Wii. It’s great though if nintendo found out a way to adapt their unique control systems to these games, :D
It is difficult to stay ahead of all the competition. Perhaps, Nintendo now would seriously relook at having really good games which can make very good use for their Wii controllers.
