Empire Games (CityVibe Clementi Central) – $465, Hong Kong set, no warranty. When I asked about how many PS3s they have left, they told me to hold one minute, and for some reason I got hung up. Twice.

Friday 18 sept today afternoon…i just gone to SIM LIM TOWEL i search all 1st & 2nd story game shop! asking about the release date of PS3 SG set…sorry to disappoint reader here…i gone to almost every shop at both level..70% said no ideal when coming 20% said coming next year and 10% said coming NOV the actualy release date and HK set warrenty given by shop!!! and they give me an attitude face!!!! then i just went out of the shop!!!
So my advice not to purchase any set form them!…as my last experiences PS2 that i brought from them….with a return trip to SIM LIM SQ of the worng power cable given to me…

To make sure that you having the Asian set that are distributed for HK and Singapore, check that there is a DVD Region Code 3 label on the product box.
If you want the 1 year warranty to be included with your system, buy them from Sony store. For a warranty to work, you are require to have the sales receipt in hand. Otherwise no warranty from Sony.

So far Qisahn has good customer service. The thing I am appalled is certain shops trying to milk the consumers into paying more for the ps3 slim when Sony explicitly state that all ps3 slim or not is going to receive a 100 price cut.
I hope Sony asia(hk, s’pore) buck up, The singapore psn store is inferior to its US and can’t even be compared to the Jap one. Please cut the price officially if not Xbox will gain the lead as Microsoft has annouced their elite is down to 499.
Another thing is why are games from this region so expensive?!!! IT cost less to import a region 2 game. Don’t let distributors like Uptron take control please they are just inflating the prices. An utter disgrace for a console that we consumers put to number one for the gk awards.

I asked at the shop opposite Gamescore in Funan this afternoon, and they claimed theirs was an Asian set (I specifically asked if it was a Singapore set). I then asked if it came with a warranty, to which the salesperson said “Yes.” So I asked if it’s a shop warranty, or would Sony honour it. His reply, “You can register online. If Sony won’t repair, bring it back to us and we will repair it FOC.”
If there’s such a thing as an Asian set, and the warranty is registrable online, then no need to wait for Singapore to launch officially already.
