- Revamped indicators: While I didn’t find the crossbar and indicators to be in the way, apparently a lot of people do. So how well did they do in making the transition seamless as possible? Pretty well, because I don’t notice anything changed drastically. It’s better this way; a total makeshift can disorientate PS3 users. The top right bar displays the number of friends you got online, and new PSN updates. Also, the battery check indicator ends up appearing on the left side of this box rather than overlaying the clock. Nice!

- Dynamic Custom Themes: As soon as you turn on your PS3, you’ll be greeted with the new default stardust-filled background. There will be future dynamic backgrounds coming up, so for now, just purchase and enjoy the splendor of the “Sackboy Running On World” LittleBigPlanet theme, complete with LittleBigPlanet-fied icons on your crossbar.
Oh wait, it’s only available on the American store, not on the Asian one. Best be getting American PSN dollars on your American account, as it’s US$2.99. Still, this goes to show how a little bit of charisma and animation can go a long way to making your dashboard seem livelier than usual. Who knows? Sony might be friendly enough to come up with a dynamic theme creator in the future.
