Resident Evil Goes Viral with Sixth Installment

Capcom has just released a new trailer confirming the release date for Resident Evil 6 as 20th November 2012. And while that seems a far way away, the game developers and publishers have already cranked up the hype machine to start building a buzz around the new title.

Sixth time around and the Zombies keep coming.

Leon and Chris have been confirmed as the main protagonists and playable characters for the new title. At the same time fans and gamers can expect a new host of characters to keep things fresh. From the looks of it, the narrative arc has come full circle and we have another “Racoon City“-esque situation on our hands, but on a more global scale. It seems that different cities will also be featured in the new Resident Evil game.

Unfortunately (or fortunately if you are a fan), the change of scenery is not accompanied with a variation of gameplay. The footage released shows Resident Evil 6 will have the same zombie stomping, gore filled rampage to offer as previous versions.Does anyone else think it might be time to change up the formula a bit?

Also accompanying the video is a viral campaign, which aims to reinforce the idea that there is No Hope Left. Mysterious graffiti has been showing up in different locations around the globe stating the mantra and there are a lot of people trying to piece together the puzzle. Go over and lend a helping hand.
