Just because Singapore takes it to the streets like no tomorrow, Round1.sg’s Yagami and Rchan managed to participate in a fighting tournament all the way East. Specifically in Tokyo, at a place called Loft A where there’s an arcade called Big Box. Apparently, it was Tokyo Game Night at the arcade, where some high-caliber Street Fighter IV could be seen at an event dubbed Godsgarden,  .
All the top Japanese players were there, ranging from Daigo, TKD, Uryo, and Tokido. American players who host iplaywinner.com were also present. Just to show the frenetic pace and pressure Yagami was confronted with, here’s an excerpt:
“I was put into a very tough group featuring Bon Chan, Gashuku and a top Ryu player who I see around Daigo often. I ended up losing to Bon Chan AND Gashuku on the big screen so more internet humiliation for me lol. Rchan, on the other hand, repped Singapore much better with a convincing win against an SBO American Qualifier, Fubarduck. He also took a round off Itabashi Zangief and got him down to half life in the last round, and that after missing an ultra after Balrogs headbutt. Go Rchan!!”
Check out Yagami’s full excerpt on the tournament here. Also, the recorded livestream of the final match is just below, simply because no-one can get enough SFIV tournament-play videos. Regardless of the result, hat’s off to the both of them. You do us South-East Asians proud.
