Nickname: SY

SF IV Main: Rufus

1) What was your first street fighter game and when did you start playing it?

My first Street Fighter game was Street Fighter 2 World Warrior naturally. I was only around 8 years old then, and I always played against my elder brother, who’s considered one of the better players in the area at that time. So it got to a point where I wanted to surpass him and beat the crap out of him.

2) Which of the new characters will you try out first and why?

On a more serious note, I’ll probably try Ibuki, because I like to use characters which can control their jump trajectory and landing. Also, I would like to choose a more attractive character because Rufus is damn ugly.

3) What kind of changes do you wish for your main in Street Fighter IV to have in Super SF IV? Why?

No idea. Seriously, because for me, I feel the game is pretty much balanced now. Sorry for this abrupt answer, just that nothing really came to mind when this question appeared.

SF IV Main: El Fuerte

1) What was your first Street Fighter game and when did you start playing it?

Super Turbo was my first Street Fighter game and I played it on the Sega Genesis when I was a kid. The first fighting game that I played competitively was actually Marvel Vs Capcom 2. SF4’s the first real competitive one in the Street Fighter series.

2) Which of the new characters will you try out first, and why?

I’ve wanted to give Juri a shot ever since she was revealed as a new character in Super SF IV. Her mobility (fast ground dashes, dash teleports, air dive kicks) , ability to control space (fireballs that you can charge and release at will) and a very good mixture of defensive and offensive options make her a character that really suits my style of play. Doesn’t hurt that she’s easily the sexiest character in Street Fighter history too.

3) What kind of changes do you wish for your main in Street Fighter IV to have in Super SF IV? Why?

A health buff for Fuerte would be nice, as he was considered low tier in Street Fighter IV because for all his mix-ups and offense, he had pretty low stamina (900 HP) and a lack of defensive options.

SF IV Main: Zangief / Blanka

1) What was your first Street Fighter game and when did you start playing it?

Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior. When I was in primary school, I used to skip swimming classes at Jurong Country Club to squeeze in a few more games. Started with Zangief at that time, but was ecstatic when I was the first amongst my group of friends to execute a Sonic Boom

2) Which of the new characters will you try out first, and why?

Hakan. He’s got a similar play style and move set to Zangief, but also has a slide and coward crouch like Blanka. “Oiling up” for more range and damage adds an interesting element to his gameplay as well.

3) What kind of changes do you wish for your main in Street Fighter IV to have in Super SF IV? Why?

Zangief – he’s really strong, no need for changes. I’ve no complaints if they nerfed Sagat, Akuma and Ryu though haha..

Blanka – if EX (horizontal and vertical) ball made a grounded opponent collapse, or a less vulnerable recovery, Blanka would be a top tier character.

SF IV Main: Sagat

1) What was your first Street Fighter game and when did you start playing it?

The first Street Fighter game for me is Street Fighter Alpha 2 which I played 3-4 years ago.

2) Which of the new characters will you try out first, and why?

Adon because he looks badass and cocky to me. Cody because he looks cool and gangster-like. Basically, these two characters can FADC into their Ultras. That’s why I would try them out first!

3) What kind of changes do you wish for your main in Street Fighter IV to have in Super SF IV? Why?

Hmm, I hope they will keep Sagat’s playing style the same as SF4 but also try to make him a more balanced character. For example; nerfing his damage output.

Thanks again to the Round1.sg guys (and gal) for their precious time to make this article possible. Do check out their site.

  26. Jayson says:

    What I wish to see….

I wish for EVEN lesser health for C. Viper! She looks horrible and should be made a lower tier character than the rest. Recommended heath to be at 500 instead of 900 (It still puzzles me last year why Rose was the bottom rated fighter). The sooner she dies the better.

Thunder Knuckle to have 55 dmg instead of 70. Overall all her moves are annoying to watch.

Akuma to have 20% more health, Gouken to have 23% more health; dmg to all moves increase by 18%.

  27. Jon_Lim says:

thanks for putting up this article, much appreciated
