Axl Rose filed a US$20 million lawsuit against the Guitar Hero publishers for their unauthorized use of the hit song “Welcome to the Jungle” that’s associated with the band’s former guitarist Slash.

It’s true; when publishers really want to hit the common denominator, they would stoop so low as to incorporate “deep and soulful” music into their soon-to-be-hit games. The offenders involved include Eminem and Linkin Park.
There should be some counter-balance to the Infinity Ward fallout, so here it is: Activision has signed a 10-year publishing agreement with Bungie (a.k.a the Halo guys) to bring its “next big action game universe to market.”

R.I.P Guitar Hero (2005 – 2011)
So, early last month Activision announced that the Guitar Hero franchise is no more. The official reason stated cited sluggish commercial sales for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. However, there must have been some greater malaise afflicting the title since most plastic axe owners will not be left in the lurch with no more future DLC content released for Guitar Hero.
