Call of Duty Black Ops II will be looking to freshen up the stale FPS scene with the introduction of combat from harseback. Or it could just be a scripted cut-scene. People seem to like those taking the sales of the previous titles.

Axl Rose filed a US$20 million lawsuit against the Guitar Hero publishers for their unauthorized use of the hit song “Welcome to the Jungle” that’s associated with the band’s former guitarist Slash.
Apparently that is the current assumption of a recent Blizzard Jobs Directory ad, but of course, some things aren’t what they seem.
Much to the surprise of no one, the Nazi Zombie mode that made Call of Duty: World at War popular makes another return, this time in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Finally, after the onslaught that is TGS 2010, Mr. Toffee can get down to pushing out a review of the latest game featuring one of Marvel’s many cash cows: Spider-Man.
Usually, a bigwig in the gaming industry (CEO, vice president, what have you) would say something quotable that could be remembered with fondness or with a hatred that burns like a thousand suns. Bobby Kotick, Activision’s CEO, was on a roll in the quotes department (with context or otherwise) during the American Merrill Lynch Media, Comms and Entertainment conference.
Last Friday, a lot of Halo fans got to check out Halo: Reach and meet up with Bungie developers David Allen and Chris Opdahl. Just before the onslaught, yours truly manage to have a friendly chat with the duo at OverEasy.

It’s true; when publishers really want to hit the common denominator, they would stoop so low as to incorporate “deep and soulful” music into their soon-to-be-hit games. The offenders involved include Eminem and Linkin Park.

R.I.P Guitar Hero (2005 – 2011)
So, early last month Activision announced that the Guitar Hero franchise is no more. The official reason stated cited sluggish commercial sales for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. However, there must have been some greater malaise afflicting the title since most plastic axe owners will not be left in the lurch with no more future DLC content released for Guitar Hero.
