First, there’s a so-called “Facebook Movie” called The Social Network that’s showing end of the year, and now this. Producer Michael London (Sideways) recently optioned the rights to the book “Googled: The End of the World As We Know It,” which is about how Google was found by one Sergey Brin and Larry Page (via Deadline.com). The schtick of the movie? It’ll focus on how two “nice guys” made one of the most popular and successful companies in the world.
I don’t know; when I watch a docudrama, I want tension and backstage politics presented on the screen portrayed in The Pirates of Silicon Valley. Even The Social Network sounds fascinating due to the backstabbing that happened when Facebook was created. What’s Googled going to accomplish if it’s clean around the corners?
