Red Dead Redemption (PS3, Xbox 360)

"That's the last time I skip out on paying the cheque at Armadillo Town!"

Yee-haw! About time this game came out. We’ve been doing a bit of previews here and there; finally we get to strut around the dying Wild West, form our own cowboy posse online, and skin animals just for the heck of it.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PS3, Xbox 360)

The Prince displaying non prince-like behavior at the Undead Convention 2010, Persia.

The Prince from the Sands of Time saga is back in a prequel to PoP: Warrior Within (you know, the one with the Godsmack metal and bland version of the Prince). He now can freeze time, freeze water that become makeshift platforms for him, and consorts with a djinn for his special powers. Neat-o, but I doubt it’ll capture the magic of Sands of Time.

Dragon Age: Origins – Darkspawn Chronicles (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)

darkspawn chronicles

What if your main character didn’t survive the Joining? Darkspawn Chronicles put you in the shoes of a darkspawn group to kill the remaning Grey Warden army led by Alistair. I wonder how tough the ogres and armored ogres are when I gain control of them?

Split/Second (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

Bob figured that attaching neon letters on his car's bumper isn't practical in the long run.

Until Criterion announces their next racing game, you’ll have to settle with Split/Second filling that void for vehicular destruction in you. It’s perhaps the only racing game where you can make a building explode and collide on top of your friend’s car.

Trauma Team (Wii)

It's either this pretty lady's picture or an open body with infected pancreas and colons.

Let’s hope this fifth game (or fourth? I lost count of the number of Trauma games Atlus churns out) isn’t as soul-crushing and tough as the first two games on the DS. In case you weren’t sure what this game is, think of it as a spiffy equivalent of that board game Operation. Only with a sci-fi story and a lot of icky organs for you to stitch up and fix.
