Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)
To quote a GAX forum member, I pity the ang mohs who are waiting for the official release of Uncharted 2 when the majority of us have already finished it. I already wrote good things about this game, but if you somehow don’t think the graphics are jaw-dropping, you really need to get your eyes checked.
Brutal Legend (Xbox 360, PS3)
On the bright side, Xbox 360 gamers, Brutal Legend is out this Tuesday. If you love Tim Schafer’s writing and listening to rock & roll while driving down on a world drawn by Boris Vallejo if he were doing a heavy metal band album cover, it’s definitely a must-buy.
Tropico 3 (Xbox 360)
Remember the very first Tropico where you control a faction of pirates while building up your island to be the best hideout in the Seven Seas? Yeah, you still don’t get to be a pirate in this one, but you get to be a dictator of a military state. That’s a good trade-off, right?
Dreamkiller (PC)
You’re a psychiatrist who enter the minds of people to kill off bad dreams and nightmares with a huge gun. It’s like the antithesis of Freddy Krueger, and sounds cool in concept as a result. Let’s hope the game is at least entertaining.
Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games (Wii, DS)
It’s the sequel to Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games. Meaning there will be lots of button-mashing, controller-waggling, and touch-screen shenanigans. Looks good for the young ones, I wager.
Half-Minute Hero (PSP)
Last and certainly not least, we have this little ditty that evolved from an old Japan-made Flash game. Your objective is to save the world within 30 seconds. It’s actually wackier as it sounds, as battles are conducted in a milisecond and your time limit being manipulated by the Goddess of Time in the hero’s starting village. It’s a potential candidate for Underrated RPG of 2009.
