This Week In Releases/Titles: Shattered Hearts Broker

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PSP)

KHBBS_01

Here it is; the game that brought PSP sales up high in glorious English. If I weren’t knee-deep in Ys 7 (great portable action RPG with a s***ty plot), I would be getting this. Along with Valkyria Chronicles 2 in tow, this month’s very generous with PSP RPGs.

Bleach: Heat The Soul 7 (PSP)

bleach-hts01

Whoops; I forgot to list this title for last week’s column. It’s an anime license one-on-one brawler. Seems fun if you’re a fan of the manga/anime.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (Xbox 360, PS3)

spiderman_shattered01

Help restore reality by controlling four different Spider-Men. From original to 2099, Marvel and Activision’s got you covered in the superhero action game department.

A Messload of PS Move Titles For Your Grandmother (PS3)

sports-champ

Sports Champions, Kung Fu Rider, Start the Party!: these are your PS Move launch titles. Initial reviews of the PS Move seem positive, but I’m really more stoked at the other alternatives (better ones, at least) coming later this year like Time Crisis: Razing Storm and (hopefully) Ape Escape.

Bioware DLC For Mass Effect 2 & Dragon Age: Origins (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)

In this corner, we have Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadow Broker where you get to go after Liara’s arch-nemesis. In the other corner is DA:O’s Witch Hunt where you get to confront everybody’s favorite slapping target snarky compatriot/lover Morrigan. Both should offer a few hours of closure and fun.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame (Wii, DS)

batman-BandB

It’s a cartoon-licensed beat-em-up done by Shantae developers WayForward. Do give it a shot; it looks colorful and could offer harmless-if-repetitive fun.

R.U.S.E (PC, Xbox 360, PS3)

ruse

A World War II strategy game with a unique take on resource-gathering that’s reminiscent of that one RTS with robots called Z. You also can use global magic spells called Ruses that can let you deploy tactics like decoys and army-cloaking. Could be fun.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 (Xbox 360, PS3)

hawx2

More planes, more flight sim action, more dog-fighting stunts to pull off: it’s the gaming equivalent of Top Gun back again in full force. Only without the macho posturing and camaraderie that can be misinterpreted as homosexuality.
