I recall posting briefly about Tomonobu Itagaki’s (i.e: the former head of Team Ninja) new game that will be revealed to the public next week in E3. Guess what? It’s called Devil’s Third, and will be an ultraviolent shooter from Itagaki’s company, Valhalla Game Studio. It will come out for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 and yes, it will have wall-running ninjas in it.
According to Kotaku, the former members of Team Ninja will be making a “breakthrough for the shooting genre”. Valhalla’s goal is to make a shooter with a “direct feeling of killing” your opponents. THQ Executive Vice President, Danny Bilson, said that the game has multi-player and will be “phenomenal.” THQ were convinced in signing up Valhalla due to the game’s original multi-player build. There aren’t any tidbits regarding the game’s storyline, save that it’s set in a war-torn earth that’s probably ravaged by the Kessler syndrome theory (Wiki it).
Looks cool so far, though I’m getting a bit of vibe from a past game that has a protagonist wielding a gun and a sword, as well as does acrobatics. I think it was called Dry, or something like that?
