Valve Files Defense of the Ancients Trademark

DOTA

The rumors about Valve planning big things with the insanely-popular Warcraft III mod Defense of the Ancients (or DOTA to a lot of you). According to a recent Kotaku post, the developers of Team Fortress 2 & Left 4 Dead recently filed a trademark request for DOTA under “Computer Game Software” via the US Patent & Trademark Office a week ago.

The rumors are also reinforced with the fact that DOTA developer “IceFrog” was recently hired by Valve. Haters may hate the fact that something like DOTA’s lifespan is akin to a modern day cockroach, but if Valve wishes to involve themselves with this mod, chances are they can at least put a spin on things.
