At this time, it’s pure conjecture. And I might say a lot of BS for now. This month is really the right time I’ve ever heard about it and when you look at it’s supposed feature set, the PS2 boot support is most suspect. As we’re talking about BC here, the current PS3s don’t even have the Emotion Engine chip anymore, which is why it doesn’t have PS2 BC, how will this Mod chip enable it? Emulation?

The other things are more likely, but until they finally go one sale somewhere with some people having used it, then we’ll see where it stands.

well, if they call it a Slim and has excess fat trimmed, you have to make a few sacrifices. Personally, i’m not really bothered with the b/c, but there are some who probably do care. and it is a known fact that the higher ups at Sony do tend to backpaddle when it comes to their comments (about b/c and Dualshock).

what Kichigai pointed out is true: this is the first time they admitted publicly to not having b/c this time around. better late than never in admitting things :)

on an unrelated note, i’m more concerned with the news of the Belzar chip. anyone care to clarify if that’s true or not? piracy’s already happening on the xbox360 and wii; it’s only a matter of time until the ps3 got its turn.
