I love a good robot knife fight as much as the next guy. Two down on their luck hobos robos, with nothing but the will to live separating them from sweet, glorious victory and bitter, crushing defeat.
Previously only seen in blacklisted, illegal fighting rings, Robot Gladiatorial combat is now making it to the far more respectable arena of Downtown East D’Marquee with the World Robo Tournament ‘09.
WRT ‘09 is being organized by the RoboAcademy, a collection of students from local schools who share a passion for robotics. The tournament will be part-tournament, part-carnival with an emphasis on fun and games.
As well as the previously mentioned RoboGladiators tournament (which may or may not include knives – probably not) there will be an arcade challenge with Asiasoft games and other activities.
WRT ‘09 is open to the public and will be taking place on 24th November from 9AM to 6PM.
