Siliconera manage to unveil the latest Media-Create numbers; Xenoblade, the new Wii RPG from Monolith Software (i.e: the people behind Xenosaga & Xenogears), came out on top with 82,952 for sales. Super Mario Galaxy 2 got bumped to no. 2, with a respectable sales number of 73,480. Why should you give a damn about Xenoblade? Because if there’s a chance a new JRPG IP can keep up with sales within the top ten for a few months, there’s actually hope for the genre yet and at least make people making RPGs ease off the criticism regarding the genre. Last I checked, Final Fantasy XIII didn’t do as gloriously as expected in terms of sales.

Anyway, here are the top ten games for the week of June 7th-13th.

1. Xenoblade (Wii, Nintendo) – 82,952

2. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii, Nintendo) – 73,480 [518,530]

3. Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City (PS3, Take Two) – 64,249

5. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 (NDS, Square Enix) – 19,593 [1,141,582]

6. Just Cause 2 (PS3, Square Enix) – 18,795

7. Fairy Tail: Portable Guild (PSP, Konami) – 13,586 [48,557]

8. World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010: Aoki Samurai no Chousen (PS3, Konami) – 12,617 [106,055]
